Serbian Berilija to build EUR 10 million factory in Novi Becej

Serbian company Berilija, a subsidiary of Belgian bedding manufacturer Somnis Bedding, plans to build a factory in the northern municipality of Novi Becej, according to the local government.

The company has acquired thirty hectares of land where it will build the factory. The investment is worth over EUR 10 million (USD 10.8 million) and will create job for 120 people, according to Somnis Bedding regional manager, Cedric de Mol.

In January, Somnis Bedding completed the acquisition of the former Pobeda factory in the Novi Becej industrial zone. Founded in 1995, Somnis Bedding manufactures mattresses, quilts and pillows. It has around 200 employees, according to its LinkedIn profile.
