Saint-Gobain has completed work on new plasterboard line at Turda

The French group Saint-Gobain, which owns several factories in Romania where it produces construction materials, completed, in the latter part of 2023, the investment in a new plasterboard production line, in Turda, in Cluj County.

"The main investment carried out in 2023 was the new plasterboard line from Turda. The investment totaled approximately EUR 50 million and was completed in the fourth quarter of last year. The products manufactured on this line meet the needs of customers in Romania, but are also addressed to other markets in the Eastern European region," says Ovidiu Păscutiu, CEO of Saint-Gobain Romania.

Also last year, the group started the construction of a photovoltaic park on the land of the Saint-Gobain Glass factory, in Călăraşi, in collaboration with Engie Romania. This is currently the largest on-site photovoltaic park in Romania.
