Foreign trade turnover totals PLN 320.8bn in Q1

Foreign trade turnover in Poland between January and April, based on exports at current prices, amounted to PLN 320.8bn, while imports totaled PLN 317.5 bn. The positive balance reached the level of PLN 3.3bn, according to data published by the Central Statistical Office (GUS). In comparison to the corresponding period of 2019, both exports and imports decreased by 5.3 percent and 5.8 percent respectively. The decrease in turnover between January and April 2020 was related to the coronavirus pandemic. Export turnover fell by 26 percent in April, while imports decreased by 24.9 percent compared to the same month last year, according to GUS.
