The investment volume in the CEE hotel sector is expected to exceed €800m by the end of 2018, according to C&W, a slight decline compared to last year’s total. The decrease was attributed to a lack of prime assets and portfolios on the market that could satisfy investor appetite for hotels in key CEE cities. Institutional and listed investors are becoming more dominant, accounting for 74 percent of the total transaction volume in 2017 and 54 percent in the first three quarters of 2018. Changing consumer trends and evolving accommodation concepts in recent years have resulted in a blurring of lines between traditional hotel classes, according to C&W.
