The circuit board manufacturer and technology group AT&S plans to invest up to €120 million in its headquarters in Leoben-Hinterberg. In the first phase of the investment, €44 million will be spent by spring 2021. Up to 200 new jobs would be created through the initiative, according to AT&S CEO Andreas Gerstenmayer.

Another €20 million is being earmarked for for research and development while €100 million has been set aside for equipment and processes. The IPCEI (Important Project of Common European Interest) program will provide support of up to 25 percent.

Economics Minister Margarete Schramböck called the investment at AT&S particularly gratifying, as 20 percent of all companies have postponed or canceled investments since the pandemic outbreak.
