Urszula Sekuła takes up position as Business Development Director at Retail Institute

Urszula Sekuła, a manager with over 20 years' experience in the retail and office property market, has joined the Retail Institute team as Business Development Director. She will be responsible for business development in Poland and three European markets.

Urszula Sekuła brings to the Retail Institute many years of experience in the commercial real estate market, strengthening the group of managers and experts with extensive knowledge of the industry. In her career to date, she has successfully led the commercialisation of office buildings and nationally recognised shopping centres such as Galeria Mokotów, Manufaktura and Posnania, working for entities such as GTC and Apsys. In the following years, she developed the Empik and Smyk brands in Poland and abroad, holding the position of Expansion Director within the structures of NFI EM&F and Empik S.A.. As she herself admits, she admits that at work she focuses on developing business relations, achieving goals and working with and for people.

Urszula will be responsible for the development of the Retail Institute on the markets of Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania. We are finalising the work at the Retail Institute related to the launch of expenditure monitoring in all sales channels - analyses combining data from shopping centres and retail chains as well as transactional systems. We are utilising the potential of the latest technologies, including artificial intelligence, to research customer behaviour and shopping habits. We support not only shopping centres, but also brands and retail chains in their transformation processes. Ursula's knowledge and experience, but also her charisma and creativity will allow us to implement new programmes and services that are essential for the further development of the market," says Anna Szmeja, president of the Retail Institute.

Urszula Sekuła is an architect by education, a graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology. She has also completed numerous courses and trainings in management, business and commerce. Privately, she is a wife and mother of two daughters.
