MDC2 Park Łódź South reduces embedded carbon by 61% compared to the global average

- According to independent lifecycle (LCA) analysis by PM Services, MDC2 Park Łódź South reports a CO2 equivalent of 163 kg CO2e/m2, significantly lower (49%) than the average Polish results of 319 kg CO2e/m2 and which is an astonishing 61% lower than the global average (413 kg CO2 e/m2).

MDC² together with the investor, Fortress Real Estate Investments Limited (Fortress) are developing MDC2 Park Łódź South, one of the most environmentally sustainable warehouse facilities available on the market with a total area of over 80,000 m2. The growing awareness of problems related to climate change means that property investors, developers, and tenants are increasingly choosing buildings that minimize the negative impact on the environment. According to OneClick LCA database MDC2 Park Łódź South leads in embedded carbon reduction and when compared to the global average of 413 kg CO2/m2 achieved reduction of 61%.

The innovative use of well-thought-out technical solutions such as green steel, green concrete and a local procurement chain have resulted in an extremely energy efficient facility, reducing the costs associated with its use and significantly reducing its impact on the environment" - says Jeremy Cordery, COO and co-founder at MDC2.

From the very beginning of the construction process of MDC2 Park Łódź South, the developer has been using market-leading environmentally friendly solutions.
