LIP Invest, a provider of special real estate funds in the asset class of logistics real estate in Germany, and its sister company AvanLog Solar have put another solar system into operation. On the roof of the LIP logistics property in Reutlingen, the PV system reliably generates green electricity with a maximum output of 746.2 kilowatt peak.

AvanLog Solar, a full-service developer for photovoltaic systems on the roofs of industrial and logistics properties, has installed a total of 1,820 solar modules for LIP. With an output of 732,455 kilowatt hours per year, the system supplies approximately as much electricity as 293 private households would consume over the course of a year. Due to the environmentally friendly power production around 340 tons of climate-damaging CO2 emissions can be avoided.

The tenant of the logistics property has been using the solar power since commissioning. The forwarding company Brucker has taken on an order for Bosch here. The logistics service provider operates an automated car wash and electric ground vehicles, which can be supplied with electricity directly from the roof thanks to a power purchase agreement (PPA).

"The installed photovoltaic system can cover 40 percent of our tenant's energy requirements. We rely on these self-consumption systems for all our PV expansion projects in order to offer our tenants the greatest possible added value. We can offer them the solar power at fixed and more favourable conditions, while the tenants can save on network fees at the same time," says Bodo Hollung, partner and managing director.

LIP's sister company AvanLog Solar was founded in 2021. The full-service developer is available as a competent partner to all owners of logistics or commercial properties. To date, AvanLog Solar has completed 8 projects with an output of 14.26 megawatt peak on around 150,000 square meters of roof area. A further 14 projects are currently under construction.
