Hrotovice in the Trebic region is looking for a contractor to build a community centre. The estimated cost is over 144 million crowns. According to Hana Škodová (nez.), the mayor of the town with about 1,800 inhabitants and an annual budget of CZK 61 million, this is an investment project that has been in the pipeline for many years, but she did not want to comment too much before concluding a contract with the contractor.

"I'm not going to comment now during the time when the contract is published, because we don't know how we're going to bid it all out, what it's all going to look like," Škodová said. The deadline for submitting bids is April 26.

The community centre is to be built on the site of a falconry hall demolished five years ago. The mayor said it will serve as a facility for neighborhood sports and social events including balls, parties, conferences, theaters and a movie theater.

With the plan to build the community centre, Hrotovice has been successful in its application for funding for the regeneration and use of brownfield sites. This is according to information from the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The amount of the subsidy is CZK 70 million.

Hrotovice paid about CZK 2.3 million for the project documentation for the construction.
