Construction production in the Olomouc Region grew by 4.1 pct to CZK 8.185 billion last year

Basic construction production in the Olomouc Region grew by 4.1 percent year-on-year to CZK 8.185 billion last year. Compared to other regions, it was the sixth lowest, according to data from the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ). For the whole of 2022, basic construction output in the region rose by about a quarter year-on-year to CZK 7.863 billion, thanks to the higher intensity of civil engineering.

The average number of registered employees in the construction industry in the Olomouc Region fell by 1.7 percent year-on-year to 2,762 last year, according to ČSÚ data. Their average wage in 2023 rose by 6.9 percent to CZK 42,196.

In the Czech Republic as a whole, the value of basic construction production increased by 7.2 percent to CZK 238.014 billion last year. Only the South Bohemia Region showed a decline, where the value of basic construction production decreased by 2.9 percent to CZK 11.763 billion compared to 2022. The highest construction output last year was recorded in Prague, which accounted for basic construction production worth CZK 103.424 billion. Compared to 2022, it was 8.3 percent higher.
