Optim PM: ParkLake Shopping Center receives final “Excellent” BREEAM certification
Optim Project Management has assisted ParkLake Shopping Center throughout the entire BREEAM certification process. This resulted in the shopping centre being awarded with a final certificate rating “BREEAM 2013 New Construction Retail, Excellent”.
The certification process started during the Concept Design stage, and the specialists at Optim PM provided the developer with ongoing support and consultancy through all the stages of this procedure.
“We are happy to have finalized one of the most complex green certification process on the local real estate market. ParkLake is today the only shopping centre in Romania to be certified under the standard “2013 New Construction”, a new and more stringent procedure of BREEAM”, said Valentin Mocancea, Optim Project Management’s in-house BREEAM assessor.
Optim Project Management had a major role in the construction of ParkLake Shopping Center. With a team of 35 professionals involved throughout, Optim PM successfully provided Project Management services, along with Cost Management, Procurement, Tenant Coordination, and Architectural Design for some retail shops, internal public areas and external finishes.
Optim PM has a team of licensed assessors and accredited professionals covering all BREEAM methods. The company offers ‘Pre-assessment Estimate’ and ‘Preliminary Assessment’ services to enable its clients and their design teams to establish BREEAM requirements at an early stage of the development cycle, thereby allowing the scheme to respond to sustainability challenges and opportunities from the outset. The ‘Design Advice’ service can then help design teams achieve a required BREEAM rating as cost effectively as possible, before a ‘Formal BREEAM Assessment’ is undertaken and submitted to the BREEAM for certification. Our assessors can offer a wide range of BREEAM-related expertise, including ecology, energy, acoustics, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering and materials specification.
