Korean Air the latest airline to return to Prague

There have been increasing signals of life coming back to the Prague airport, even as concerns over a second wave rise around Europe and in the Czech Republic. The latest positive signal is that Korean Air announced it would renew service between Prague and Seoul as of August 21. The flights will only be offered once per week at first, but it's an important symbol, especially since it's only the fourth long-haul flight currently being offered from the airport. Before the pandemic, there were 15. Flights have already been renewed to Doha and to Dubai. Korean Air will be using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for the flights capable of carrying 269 passengers. Just 2.55 million passengers have used the Prague airport this year, a decline of nearly 5.3 million. If current trends hold, the airport will handle a total of 5.5 million passengers this year. In 2019, the number was 17.8 million.
