Greece will open six ports on Saturday, including the port of Piraeus in Athens, for cruise ships. The country's Ministry of Tourism made the announcement six weeks after the beginning of the usual tourist season. Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis sent a letter to international operators in the cruise sector, stating that ports will be opened - Piraeus, Rhodes, Heraklion, Volos, Corfu and Katakolon. From these ports, tourists will be able to continue their journeys to other locations in Greece. Greece has been opening its land and airport borders gradually following the start of the tourist season.
