It's unusual to read good news coming out of the automobile industry in these times, but Volkswagen has just announced that with capacity utilization picking up, it will end short-time regimes for its employees in Germany. So while VW warns that it will be monitoring the situation carefully, it also says that the opening of car dealerships and the discounts they're offering to get people back into buying mode has helped the situation. Member of the board Andreas Tostmann, said the company would be controlling the production levels as precisely as possible to match demand market-wide as well as for its customers. Current output is running at between 75 percent and 95 percent of their pre-pandemic levels.
