Thyssenkrupp is delaying plans to open a new production plant for electric motor components in Pécs, approximately 170 km south of Budapest, by one and half to two years. The German company, which specializes in industrial engineering and steel production, said its decision was based on the uncertainty facing the automotive industry in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Thyssenkrupp had originally planned to open the production unit in 2021.The company currently employs around 2,200 people in Hungary.
