The Polish retail chain Pepco will begin its expansion into Serbia by opening stores in Belgrade in October where it will employ 100 people. Within a year, it expects to have opened 30 stores in Serbia, which is the 13th country it's moved into. Director of Operations for Central and Eastern Europe Marcin Stanko said the move was designed to strengthen the company's presence in the Adriatic region, following its debut in Croatia and Slovenia.

Pepco has over 2,000 stores in the Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania and Bulgaria. It will open its first stores in Italy in September.
