German automotive manufacturer Continental laid the cornerstone for its new plant in Debrecen, eastern Hungary. The cost of the investment is €100m. The Hungarian government will cover around one-third of the total cost. The project will create 450 new jobs. Production is scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2020, and the company plans to increase its manufacturing activity in automotive electronics. The Debrecen factory is Continentalʼs seventh unit in Hungary.
