The Prague 4 municipality is trying to figure out what to do with the Novodvorska housing estate, one of the oldest and least attractive in the city. A study carried out by the architectural studio dialog architekt found that residents spend very little time there: just one third of children and a fifth of older people, with many people complaining that the level of services in the area have worsened in recent years. The study found that the Novodvorska Plaza shopping mall is well kept-up and while it doesn't offer much in terms of leisure or entertainment, two-thirds of the older children spend free time there. The study recommended the renewal of parks in the area, and that new playgrounds for older children be created and the installation of more benches. It also suggested that property owners in the area and companies in the area should discuss plans for reconstructing the space in front of the local cultural center.
