Irivet Software House, a company established by Czech construction engineer Rudolf Vyhnálek and Vincent Marani, an American architect based in Prague, started a business in the United Arab Emirates. The company’s majority shareholder is a Dubai-based construction entrepreneur, while Vyhnálek and Marani each hold 22-percent stakes. Irivet Software House has already secured its first project at the Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai and hopes to be able to work on larger projects, such as skyscrapers, in the future. Vyhnálek is an expert in BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology, which uses 3D computer models to help reduce costs by revealing construction mistakes in the project phase. In Dubai, BIM is obligatory when constructing public buildings and large projects that have at least 40 floors and 40,000 sqm of space, according to Vyhnálek.
