Vue International will buy CineStar, Germany's biggest multiplex chain, in a deal that values the company at €221.8m. Hollywood Reporter writes that Vue, a British cinema giant, will pay €130m for the company up front and up to €91.8m subsequently based on "an additional variable." The seller in the deal was the Australian group Event. CineStar controls 449 screen over 57 sites and its biggest competitor CinemaxX is already owned by Vue. Earlier in the year, Vue acquired Cinema3D in Poland and Ireland's Showtime Cinemas.
