Vodafone has secured permits to provide electronic communications activities for public communications network and services from the Serbian Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services. But the Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic said that Vodafone is not the fourth mobile operator in the country. "They are registered to be able to perform activities that do not include fixed and mobile telephony, for which special licenses are required. The permits involve transit traffic between Western Europe and Turkey, which will bring money to Serbia from the collection of fees," Ljajić told the daily Politika.
