The expansion and renovation of Frequency Apartments, a 100-unit community in the Tenleytown neighborhood of northwest Washington, D.C., has been completed. The developer, Urban Investment Partners (UIP), acquired the building along with two other properties from American University in 2016. UIP spent $14m to add an additional 14,000 sq ft and renovate the original 36,000 sq ft building. The property used to be an office building that housed the local National Public Radio affiliate WAMU. UIP Group owns and manages more than 2,800 apartments in Washington, D.C., and Maryland, and has renovated, restored and built more than 25 downtown apartment and condo buildings over the last 10 years.
