Two new non-grocery discount retailers are entering the Czech market, according to MF Dnes. The Germany-based brand Tedi expects to open its first store by June, while the Dutch brand Action should be open for business even sooner. "We'll open the first two Action stores in Central and in Eastern Bohemia during April," Monique Groeneveldová told MF Dnes. The director for expansion in new markets said a total of five stores would open before year's end. Action has been waiting for the right moment to make its move since 2014, when it formed a Czech company. MF Dnes claims both brands have been penciled into every retail park map project for some time now. Action and Tedi are seen as competition primarily for Kik and Pepco.
