The TCPA factory in Kolin will begin production of the Toyota Yaris at a date that has yet to be revealed, according to the company's spokesman Tomáš Paroubek. At the moment, the Toyota Aygo, Citroen C1 and the Peugeot 108 are the only cars rolling of the lines in the small town east of Prague. A gas and a hybrid version of the Yaris will be produced at the factory, which is to be taken over by Toyota at the beginning of 2021. Paroubek claims the extra model will increase the stability of production and employment in Kolin. "With this model there will be new technology introduced to the factory, including the new modular platform (Toyota New Global Architecture) and hybrid technology," he said. A total of 2,400 people work in TCPA's Kolin factory, making an average salary of CZK 42,200.
