Thomas Ryan has been promoted by Greystone Development to serve as its CEO starting January 1. Ryan will replace Jeff Simpson, who is forming a new real estate investment and development company, Arch Cos., with Greystone Development Director of Acquisition Jared Chassen. Ryan has been with Greystone since 1999, having previously served as head of the development and construction operations management team and has led a major development group focused on retail mall expansions, golf course communities and condominiums. He has worked in the real estate development business for more than 20 years, directing some 30 major projects in excess of $500 million, including the recently completed multifamily tower Harlem 125 in Manhattan.

“Tom’s expertise and lengthy tenure at Greystone has shown us that he has the leadership skills to grow our property development group,” Greystone co-COO Curt Pollock said in a prepared statement.
