In a move to consolidate the Croatian retail market, Studenac is poised to take over Istria Supermarkets (IS). The deal still needs to be approved by the local competition authority. The purchase price was not disclosed. The deal is expected to lead to new investment opportunities, according to local news outlets. “For IS, this transaction represents a strategic opportunity to increase market share within dynamic growth within the region. We look forward to the integration of our team with Studenac and a joint effort that will further strengthen our business,” said Vedran Banovac, CEO of IS.
