The logistics sector has remained stable over the first six months of the year, the best performing sector within the commercial estate market, according to a new report by Colliers International. The absorption figure in the central area (Madrid, Guadalajara, and Toledo), increased by 38 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 218,677 square meters.

In Barcelona, however, the contracted area decreased to 198,000 sqm, 41 percent below 2019's levels. Valencia saw just 52,000 sqm worth of space signed for, a notable decrease from the 234,948 sqm that was leased during the first six months of last year. Jorge Zayas, director of Industrial & Logistics of Colliers International said that investors were cautious during the second quarter.
