Smartwings logo will finally replace Travel Service

The Czech air carrier Travel Service will finally lose its pedestrian name following a decision taken at its most recent general shareholder meeting. The new name, which has already begun appearing on the airline's planes, is Smartwings. The company will be part of the Smartwings Group, which will also include ČSA. Both brand names will be used going forward. "These steps have been taking in fulfill our long-term strategy of becoming a strong and stable European air carrier. As part of this goal we are modernizing our fleet of planes, building new bases ofr our flights and opening new routes," said Jiří board chairman Šimán. Since 2016, the new name has been used during all new paint jobs on the company's planes and all of the new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft it's adding to the fleet will carry the Smartwings logo.
