Slovenian construction grows 14.4% in H1 2019

Slovenia's construction sector output rose 14.4 percent in the first half of 2019, compared to the same period in 2018. That's despite the fact that it fell by 6.7 percent in June compared to May, according to the Slovenian Statistics Office. The value of H1 work completed on buildings rose 11.9 percent y-o-y while engineering projects saw growth of 15.1 percent. By contrast, June construction output on buildings fell 8.8 percent while engineering jobs dropped 6.4 percent compared to May. That being said, June 2019 figures were 5.4 percent higher than those of June 2018. That included 9 percent growth for non-residential buildings whereas the value of work on residential buildings fell 2.1 percent in June y-o-y.
