The Serbian government is planning to invest into the development of the Belgrade subway. “The construction of two subway lines in Belgrade is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Serbia and certainly the largest infrastructure project in the modern history of Belgrade. That is why we decided that the Government of Serbia would choose a special financial advisor for this project, while the City of Belgrade would choose a technical advisor, with which we will consider the best model for realization,” said Deputy Prime Minister Zorana Mihajlovic, who chaired the working group that’s overseeing the project. Mihajlovic added that the government still needs to come up with a legislative framework for the project.
