The government of Serbia approved the expansion of Free Zone Zrenjanin by 32 ha to a total of 392 ha according to a decision published in the Sluzbeni Glasnik. This extension includes 90 cadastral parcels in the cadastral municipalities of Zrenjanin 1 and 2. The investment zones are set up with infrastructure for greenfield investments of all types, including production, enclosed storage, open storage space as well as offices.

The Zrenjanin Free Zone was established to attract foreign investment and create new jobs. It's one of 11 free zones that operate in the Republic of Serbia, and in the case of Zrenjanin, the city's partner in managing the zone is the Slovenian company Kolpa.
