Serbia has secured a €100m loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to purchase 18 new fou-wagon trains. The state railway company, Srbija voz, received financial support from the EBRD when it overhauled its network and services in the early 2000s. “In addition to supporting Serbian rail, we have supported Serbia in other significant projects within the transport and infrastructure sector, which we will continue,” said Susan Goeransson, director for the municipal and environmental infrastructure team at the EBRD. The bank has approved more than €5bn for 250 projects in the country.
