Sekyra Group has already sold 80 of the first 200 flats it will begin building this year in Smichov City on land formerly owned by Czech Railways in Prague 5. Prices in the new units won't be sold for less than CZK 120,000 per sqm, which means that the cheapest units will cost CZK 5.5m. Residents in the first phase will be able to begin moving in with two years. In all, three new apartment buildings offering 450 flats will be built in the first phase of the project near the Na Knížeci bus station. The Smichov City brownfield complex covers 22 hectares of land, extending all the way to the Smichov train station, which is to be reconstructed. Planning has reached the stage of an EIA for the second phase, a CZK 7.5bn investment that will encompass primarily the construction of new commercial buildings. It will include a new campus for Česká spořitelna, a concert hall, co-working space and a Park & Ride facility designed to help remove cars from the city center.
