Prague's assembly has approved the sale of 16,500 sqm of land on Rohan island in Prague 8 to a subsidiary of Sekyra Group for CZK 242m. The developer, which has been renting the land from the city since 2008, plans to build two office buildings and three apartment buildings, according to the daily E15. Its exective director Leoš Anderle explained that the plan was always to buy the land from the city once a planning permit had been secured. "We're hoping to get the constrution permit in the coming months," he said. Under its agreement with the city, Sekyra Group will build a new park in the area and contribute to the construction of a school. It's part of a wider plan by the city to redevelop the brownfield area, including places for recreation along the river and the construction of a new bridge to Holešovice.
