Scope upgrades Hungarian credit rating to BBB+

Hungary’s long-term issuer and senior unsecured local- and foreign-currency ratings have been upgraded from BBB to BBB+ with a stable outlook by Scope Ratings. The main factors behind the upgrade include sustained public debt reduction and strong investment. The country’s rating remains hampered by high public debt, competitiveness issues and uncertainties in the regulatory environment, the German ratings agency wrote.
