Russian buys McDonald’s Romanian franchise

McDonald’s sold its Romanian restaurant network to an unnamed Russian businessman. McDonald’s will remain the restaurant franchisor and will receive a percentage of the annual turnover from the new owner. McDonald’s operates 67 restaurants in 21 cities in Romania, with a total of 150,000 daily customers. The first McDonald's restaurant opened in Romania in 1995.
