A propane propylene splitter plant worth HRK 550m has entered trial operations at the Rijeka Oil Refinery Ina. The newly built plant expands the company's product line with a valuable, semi-finished product in the petrochemical industry. Liquefied petroleum gas from the refinery undergoes a process of purification and separation into propane and polypropylene of high purity.

The total installed annual capacity of the plant is 84,000 tons. Ina wrote that work on the plant began in early 2019, during a major overhaul of the refinery in Rijeka. In addition to the plant, the investment included the construction of storage space for new products and a connection to modernized logistics shipping points for product heading to the Central European and Mediterranean markets.
