A mixed-use property offering 520 apartments and 25,000 sq ft of ground-floor retail is currently under construction in Alexandria, Virginia. The developers include an affiliate of Transwestern Development Co., Perseus TDC, Four Points and their majority equity partner ELV Associates. The site currently features a former 610,000 sq ft government office building, which will be converted into housing. Located across from the Eisenhower Metro station in the Hoffman Town Center, the scheme is scheduled to be finished in the fourth quarter of 2019. Cooper Carry is in charge of the design, while Balfour Beatty PLC is overseeing construction.

“We are excited to work on such a creative project and provide the Alexandria market with a sophisticated and amenity-rich community,” said Adam Peters, executive vice president at Perseus TDC. “This property will bring an immediate vibrancy to what was previously a vacated government office building and provide tenants with an inclusive live-work-play lifestyle. The mix of healthy employment opportunities, amenity-rich environments, proximity to supermarkets and access to metro stations has proven to be a strong driver of residential demand in the marketplace.”
