Planning for a rail connection to the airport from the center of Prague is back on track, after the anti-monopoly board dropped its investigation into the way the contract for design work was issued. The daily Mlada fronta Dnes reports that the CZK 30bn infrastructure project would get passengers from the center of town to the airport within 25 minutes. Those getting on the train at the Velesavin metro station would arrive at Ruzyne in just 11 minutes. Other planned stations along the way include Bubny, Vystavišťě, Liboc, and Dlouhá Mile and a 3 km tunnel will need to be bored. As usual, such plans are a long way from realization. Complications in the planning process mean that travellers will likely have to wait at least until 2028 before they can rush off to the airport, traffic-free.
