Czech unemployment rose in January to 3.3 percent from 3.1 percent in December, according to the Czech Statistics Office. It reported that a total of 245,057 people were out of a job last month, but that the figure was still the lowest for 12 years. A year ago, the rate stood at 3.9 percent. The employers having the most difficult time finding workers were in the construction and manufacturing sectors along with hotel staff, truck drivers and warehouse stockers. Rising unemployment has had little effect on the labor market in Prague, however, with just 2 percent of those of working age currently unable to find a job.
