City officials unveiled plans for the development of the Bubny zone in Prague 7, locate between the Vltavska and Holešovice metro stations. Present at the press conference were city assembly members, the Institute for Planning and Development and the authors of the study. The idea is to create an entirely new city district that could be lived in by up to 25,000 people. Under the plan, the 110 ha plot will be able to support the construction of 1.8 million square meters of new real estate. Most of this (60%) is expected to be residential space. A construction ban is currently in force in the Bubny zone. New office buildings would dominate the area along Argentinska street while high rises would be allowed near the Holešovice station.
