The Prague airport saw its earnings fall by 80 percent in the month of April, but the cost of maintaining it and carrying out standard capital investments cost it CZK 380m, according to its chairman Václav Řehoř. In an interview with Hospodářské noviny, he claimed that the airport could make it through the summer without outside help and that it also had a loan arranged in case of need. But if the crisis continues too much longer, he said, the situation would change and he might have to ask the state for support. The unexpected drop in the number of passengers presented serious risks to be managed, but also an opportunity. "For this year and next year, we can see that the airport will be in a complicated situation during which we will have to be extremely careful with our finances in order to survive.
