Poland: Industrial production increased y/y in February in 24 of 34 industries

The increase in sold production was recorded in 24 out of 34 industry divisions (on an annual basis) in February 2024, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported.

According to preliminary data in February this year, compared to February last year, the increase in sold production (at constant prices) was recorded in 24 (out of 34) industrial departments, including repair, maintenance and installation of machinery and equipment - by 48.5%, in the production of other transport equipment - by 17.8%, car vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers - by 13.9%, chemicals and chemical products - by 10.3%, and paper, by 10.3%, and paper.Food products - by 5.5%, it was reported.

The decrease in the production of the sold industry, compared to February last year, occurred in 10 sections, including in the production of electrical equipment - by 23.9%, in the extraction of hard coal and lignite (lignite) - by 18.5%, in the production and supply of electricity, gas, steam and hot water - by 4.3%, Gus also reported.

Compared to January this year, the increase in sold production (at constant prices) in February this year was recorded in 24 (out of 34) industrial departments, including repair, maintenance and installation of machines and equipment - by 40.8%, in the production of machinery and equipment - by 15.4%, products from other mineral non-metallic raw materials - by 14.5%, other transport equipment - by 11.8%, chemicals and chemical products. The decrease in the production of the sold industry, compared to the January of this year, occurred in 10 sections, including the extraction of hard coal and lignite (lignite) - by 14.4%, in the production and supply of electricity, gas, steam and hot water - by 12.9%, in the production of paper and paper products - by 5.9%, food - by 2.1%.
