Negotiations between the coalition of parties that looks likely to take power in Prague after local elections from two weeks ago will finally focus on the top post of mayor. Denik.cz reports that the Pirate party wants its leader Zdeněk Hřib to be mayor. "The Pirates won the most votes of any of the parties that are forming this coalition," said Hřib. "In our view, this means that the will of the voters is to have a Pirate as their mayor." The Pirates in fact won fewer votes than ODS in the polling, however, ODS has not been included invited into the coalition, nor has the ANO party of outgoing mayor Adriana Krnáčová. The Pirates are insisting that members of the city council (which actually elects the mayor) not be allowed to hold other political posts. This could prove an issue with Praha Sobě, one of the potential coalition members, whose leader Jan Čizinský is the current mayor of Prague 7.
