Hungarian OTP Bank is considering whether to acquire a majority share in Mobiasbanca in Moldova from Societe Generale. According to Moldavian media, a preliminary contract could be signed in a matter of days. Societe Generale owns 67.85 percent in Mobiasbanca, while Romanian-based BRD bank has 20 percent and the EBRD holds 8.84 percent. OTP bought Societe Generale units in Bulgaria and Albania last summer while Societe Generale in Serbia announced that it will sell its units to OTP in December.
