Orbis has opened an Ibis Styles hotel in northern Bucharest’s Aviatorilor-Aurel Vlaicu business hub. This is the Polish hotel operator’s second Ibis Styles location in Romania. The hotel features 80 guest rooms as well as a restaurant, conference room, business lounge and bar. The property was rebranded from Hotel Erbas. It is owned by the Erbasu family, which also also own one of the biggest construction companies in Romania, with a turnover of more than €70m in 2017. Orbis opened its first Ibis Styles hotel in Romania earlier this year in Arad. The group operates four Ibis hotels in Romania.

Last month, Orbis acquired the Mercure Unirii hotel in Bucharest for €11.35m. “Romania is an attractive market with strong potential, and this investment offers long-term value and an attractive investment yield,” said Gilles Clavie, president of the management board and CEO of Orbis.
