The companies Novi Volvox and Leitner were selected in a tender for the construction of the Kotor - Lovćen cable car. The Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro made the announcement about the project. Its route starts in Dub on the outskirts of Kotor and leads to the locality Kuk on the mountain Lovcen at 1,350 meters above sea level.

The height difference between the departure and end station will be 1,316 meters. The cable car will be just over 3,900 meters long, and will have 20 poles. The projected capacity is 1,000 passengers per hour, and the travel time is 11 minutes. The cable car will have 40 gondolas that can accommodate ten people.

New Volvox will operate the cable car on the basis of a 30 year concession, with construction expected to cost €24.2 million. The cable car is being seen as a major Montenegrin tourist attraction and an important step in building a strong connection between Kotor and Cetinje.
