AUDI Hungaria will be building a new solar plant in its plant in Gyor together with E.ON Hungaria. It will be placed on the roofs of two logistics warehouses at the facility covering a total of around 160,000 sqm. Peak output of 12 megawatts is envisioned for the photovoltaic energy system, which is being described as the largest to be installed on buildings anywhere in Europe. Installation of the 35,000 solar cells will begin in August and be completed by the beginning of 2020. The planned annual output of 9.5GWh (enough to run 5,000 households) marks an important step in Audi's goal of making the plant CO2 neutral.
