New real estate investments exceed RON 36bn in 2018

Construction investments into new real estate projects in Romania amounted to RON 36.437bn last year, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics. The figure represented 43.4 percent of the total net investments made in the country last year. However, the construction volume in 2018 fell by 4.1 percent y-o-y, according to the data. The largest number of completed residential units was reported in Cluj (7,594 units), followed by Bucharest (5,689 units), Ilfov (5,583 units), Constanta (4,602 units), Timiş (4,578 units), Brasov (4,007 units), Iaşi (3,042 units) and Sibiu (2.480 units).
