The city of Prague's leadership estimates that construction of the new metro D line from náměstí Míru to Pisnice will cost it CZK 72bn. The Czech News Agency reports that this is the number cited by deputy mayor Adam Scheinherr, who based the figure on current construction prices. While opposition voices in the city assembly criticized new administration for raising the final price of the investment, Scheinherr said that the previous figures were based on prices that didn't take into account the enormous rise in construction costs in recent year that have been experienced by investors of all types. At current prices, he said, just building the depot at Pisnice and building the line to Pankrac would cost CZK 57bn. It's still unclear whether the final route of the metro will continue on from nám. Míru to Žižkov or in the direction of Vyočany.
